Donald R. Prothero is the author of over 30 books, including the best-selling Evolution: What the Fossils Say and Why it Matters (Columbia University Press, 2007), which won the Outstanding Earth Science Book of 2007 award from the American Association of Publishers. His book The Eocene-Oligocene Transition: Paradise Lost was designated the outstanding earth science book of 1994 by Choice.
