Donald R. Prothero has given public presentations to many different groups at many levels, from keynote addresses at professional conferences and Mensa conventions, to presentations for schoolchildren. He was a Paleontological Society Distinguished Speaker in 1993-1994, the Keynote Speaker for Darwin week in 2009 at Syracuse University and Colgate University and in 2000 at the University of Tennessee, the Bayard Brattstrom lecturer at Saddleback College in 2011, and Darwin Day keynote speaker at Broward College, Florida, in 2013. His presentations to the Skeptic Society are available in DVD for sale at www.skeptic.com. He has given numerous technical presentations and keynote addresses at professional meetings and departmental seminars. On book tours, he has spoken before audiences in many different cities and states. He was also the principal organizer and speaker for two different Penrose Conferences on the Eocene-Oligocene transition: in Rapid City, South Dakota, in 1989, and in Olympia, Washington, in 1999. He has also debated creationists on many occasions, from Duane Gish at Purdue University in 1983, to a panel debate on public television in 2002, to a debate against two creationists (R. Sternberg, S. Meyer) in 2009.
